The Fat Controller aka my boss has decided I need to give 3/4 days notice to take a day off! This means I really need to get my weather forecasting right. So Monday morning I took a punt on today and boy did I get it right. Even the rain didn't put in an appearance contrary to forecasts.

I didn't hit the water til after 3 as it was a super high tide at midday. It was blowing hard and when I started I was really rubbish. A handover didn't help but conditions were quite easy. After a while the wind became very patchy for half an hour or so but then it picked up again and and blew solidly well into the evening. As the tide dropped the bar started to kick up some waves and big random chop. Luckily by this time I'd started to take control and only time and a raging thirst dragged me back in. There were still people arriving after six and there were all sorts out from relative novices to old hands. Quite a few kiters too.

Bloody marvellous.

Oooo, I forgot to mention the sea was really blue and clear.
